Five whole days! (I’m talking to myself here, as much as to you.)
Isn’t it curious how a little habit, a little ritual can build up gradually? In yet another lesson I’m learning from having an allotment, I’m starting to really appreciate the value of keeping effing slugs off the brassicas in touch with a project every day.
Partly because my memory is so bad, that otherwise I forget I’m even writing a novel/writing a Substack/have children.
But also because a little of what I fancy does really seem to do me good. I really hope it’s the same for you.
So pick up your pen for the final day, and off we go.
Day 5, One Full Circle
Look back at what you've created this week. Pick one exercise and add THREE new details to it.
Let your idea expand a little, in whichever direction you like.
It could be three sentences added to your first pitch sentence, or three new things you’ve thought of about your location. Just keep everything in your notebook, and let that idea keep simmering.
What Happens Now?
That’s entirely up to you, of course. I’ll still be here, and also to be found across the interwebs as BookDoubling. I’d love you to tell me what your favourite part of this little challenge was - and would you like to do more, in future?
Keep that notebook handy. I have a feeling you’ll be needing it.
